How you can join and get involved
Our Rainbow is open, accessible and welcomes everyone interested in non-formal learning, LGBT+ issues, neurodiversity, mental health, active participation in community and society and related topics. You can join the organisation at any time and contribute in different ways, bringing your specific skills and experience - online and in physical spaces.
By taking part in our activities and projects, you are already part of our growing community, so you become your own Rainbow and ours too!
As well as taking part in our events, there are many opportunities to get involved as a participant, volunteer and be part of the team.

Rules for participation in activities and services
My Rainbow is an inclusive organisation where diversity is respected, valued and celebrated. We welcome people of all genders, sexual orientations, ages, nationalities to create a space of encounter and coexistence. We have zero tolerance for homophobia, sexism, nationalism, racism, ageism and other forms of oppression and violence.
In order to ensure a safe, respectful environment and the smooth running of our activities, please be advised that it is strictly forbidden to attend events and services under the influence of alcohol or other psychoactive substances, or to consume or possess drugs at the venue.Any violation of these rules will result in immediate removal from the venue and possible further action in accordance with applicable law..
We ask all participants in the activities and service users to alert the team to any incidents of violence or illegal activities. You can do this in person or by emailing us at info@mojamavrica.si.
Local volunteering
If you live in Slovenia and want to join our dynamic and diverse community, you can get involved in a one-off event or work with us to develop a more structured volunteering programme tailored to your wishes and goals. It is also possible to apply for EU-funded projects where we can support and mentor you in a variety of ways (before, during and after). If you are abroad, we also have many events online that you can attend or co-organise.
International volunteers
You do not have to be physically in Slovenia to be part of Moja mavrica (My Rainbow Institute)! As an international volunteer, you can get involved both online and offline. You will have the chance to provide your support for the management and implementation of activities, projects and other events of the organization, and attend international activities in Europe.
Long-term volunteering
Volunteering allows you to work together for the long term, with you deciding the timeframes for your involvement.
Study practice (internships)
We organise placement activities and offer professional mentoring for students of social work and related fields. You can do assignments, humanitarian lessons, test theory in practice and translate practice (back) into theories, learn about the functioning of the NGO sector, gain insight into administrative, organisational and team processes by observing or actively participating in them. You can try out different roles and develop (and strengthen) your skills in working with groups, with individuals and with the community.
